Hi Jamie
Welcome to the Forum - good to see some plant fossils from just along the coast in Fife. For ID:
1. Calamites 'stem'
2. Possibly mineralised plant as above
3. Fossil clay/soil, known locally in mining terms as 'seatearth', with roots and plant debris
4. Lepidodendron branch/stem
probably, given your location, all between 315 - 305 million y.o. Nice finds-I've heard there's some some good stuff around there-if you can find it!

Hiya,
I'm looking for some help with ID'ing some rocks and fossils I found near West Wemyss over the Easter Weekend. The filesizes are a bit large so I've posted them on my Picasa gallery at http://picasaweb.google.com/L.Mason82/Fossils Grateful for any assistance anyone could provide. Liam < ="utf-8">
