Just picked up at Charmouth. Looks like scales (black, shiny). I'm guessing tree, but possibly fish ? (He says hopefully)

Excellent,thanks. It looks like they disappear under the surface so hopefully a few more to uncover (with care) when I've time.

Hi Peter, that was my first thought, but reading "Fossils of the Lower Lias..." (PalAss), I don't think we have enough information to be honest!
