Thought it was quartz, but it looks like bone to me ?

looks more like a mineral than a fossil. Hot sure if it is quartz, can it be scratched with a copper coin, and a penknife?

Hi, there is definitely quartz there but some parts look like bone/cartilage, these parts are softer than rest

Test the hardness, if the penknife scratches it but not the coin it is perhaps quartz, if the coin scratches it it is perhaps calcite.
I do not think there is any fossil remains there.
