Hi

Has anyone been to Aust recently? What's the best way down while the National Grid works continue? Any tips on best access, parking etc. welcome.

Thanks!

Hi Sam,
Just been for a stroll along Sedbury Cliff and could see white vehicles on the causeway over at Aust so assume work is still ongoing.
You can access the upstream cliff via the Aust M48 services. Follow the cliff line through the wood/field or the road next to the travellers site that leads to the sewage works. The downstream cliff can be reached by walking under the bridge (cut off an hour or so either side of high tide/possible to climb over bridge support if cut off but wouldn't recommend it.). 2 hours free parking at the services or park in one of the lanes around Aust and walk if you need longer.
Good luck,
Pete

Thanks Pete
Actually I went on Saturday and did as you described, parking on one of the lanes across the motorway, walking over the tolls and following the Severn path down to the beach then walking back. Got some nice bits of bone bed to break up including a vert :-)

Fingers crossed there's something recognisable amongst it. Meanwhile here's some bits of Pachystropheus found today at Sedbury.

Nice!

Haven't done any prep yet but I've got a vert, part of a jaw and part of a neural arch and some other bits. Will soak the teeth etc. out at some point.
