My brother has found what looks to be part of a land animal from the planorbis zone at Lavernock. It may only be some jumbled plesiosaur bones but I'm gonna have a look at it this evening.

Met Bow1980 on Lavernock beach and he took us to Barry to look at a piece he needed help lifting, tide was in too far so heading back to the car when i spotted a group of verts lying on a ledge,looked to be about 16 of them with the size up to 1 and a half inches,when excavated there was another couple under the surface.They were in crumbly shale so most came out in ones and twos but did get a grouping of six.I must say Bow looked pig sick at missing these but we managed to stop him slitting his wrists with his chisel . The pics i took were very blurred but hopefully Bow can post some better ones.
