Belemite collected at Port Mulgrave last week, part of this one broke exposing some of the internal structure. In the light grey areas at the rear of the specemin it looks almost like there are two small squids with guard and tentacles. Is it possible these are preserved live young or is this wild fantasy?SAM_1215c.JPG SAM_1214a.JPG

Welcome to the forum Marlowe,
The grey area  (cone shape) is called the phragmacone or living chamber. I can't see anything in it I'm afraid.
