Hello, I'm Mike, me and my family came across this large tree fossil?.. On filey beach, can anyone help identify what period or type of tree maybe?
Also, we are not sure if we should call or take the find to anybody?

Hello Mike and welcome to the forum. It certanly looks like wood in cross section and would think it will take a good polish to bring out the detail. As to the type of wood someone might be able to he lp you, but I can't. Very nice find.
