Hi
This specimen came from around the Robin Hoods Bay Area
Any thoughts on what creature this came from ? I’m wondering if it’s a plesiosaur vertebrae
I forgot to include a scale - the rock is about 15cm wide . The first photo shows the specimen before I started more advanced prepping

Thanks

Difficult to say at the moment, bit more prep and may be able to tell. Bone is rare in RHB.

Thanks

I was hoping to get an idea of the overall shape of the bone before proceeding any further.
I thought it looked a bit like illustration D in my copy of Vertebrate Paleontology Click image for larger version - Name: B5EE2739-BBF4-4BEF-A777-F26138084B3E.jpeg, Views: 18, Size: 310.26 KB
