I used to go there as a youngster many moons ago and found plenty of part ammonites. The last time I was in the area, maybe 10 years ago, I recall signs saying not to dig/hammer in the cliffs. I recently popped in to Charmouth for an hour but that looked like the beach had been hoovered of all fossils. Is Chapmans pool still worth a visit these days or has that been heavily picked too?

Thanks for the help.

Just seen this so apologies for a late reply. I've not been to Chapmans for a couple of years but very generally I would expect the ratio of erosion to collection to be higher there than Charmouth so still worth a look I'd say. As you know its worth the walk just for the scenery anyway ðŸ˜„

Thanks teejay2. It's a bit of a jaunt from Guildford hence the question. I agree with your point on the scenery and it's also a place that holds great memories of fossil collecting as a 10 year old - happy days.
