I live in Humboldt county, ca. I visit beaches, state park etc.there is a particular beach that is in question for me. I feel have come across a skeleton of something old and I'm wondering why it is still there?? I dont understsnd, can someone explain?

Hi and welcome! There may be many reasons and most f us are in the UK. May I suggest that you contact a local museum or group.

Ihave thought about contacting Humboldt state, and have for other reasons but they never get back. What could be a reason that they have not recognized these as fossils

Um, no. I guess I could hve taken a pic, but it is still really deep in the dirt and it us at a popular local beach. I'd feel weird just digging away
