I’d appreciate any feedback on what I found on my gravel driveway yesterday.

It is hard and rocklike but when I ran it under the tap a little black colour came from the underside so I didn’t persist with any brushing or further cleaning.

I thought it resembled a claw initially but having looked at some photos online I have second thoughts so I’m interested in what the experts think!

Thanks in advance

I'd say decorated tile fragment.  It might even be a claw, but from some fancy piece of ceramic architectural device.

I would say pottery of some sort I'm afraid.

Possibly some slag coating stone

Thanks all for the quick replies, I really appreciate it. A disappointment for sure but I might just let the kids continue to believe 😉
