Hi all
I found this ammonite at Eastbourne, near Cow Gap.
Could it be Acanthoceras jukesbrownei?

Any help is much appreciated
Thank you and Happy New Year

Acanthoceras is extremely variable, I'd play safe with Acanthoceras sp. Nice example though.
Just a thought, have you soaked it for a good while? The salt tends to damage them over time if you don't get rid.

Hi Colin Hi Alan
thanks for your replies
Yes, I've soaked it in water for about a week, I hope it worked

Hi Peter, nice specimen, don't know if you did this but best to change the water daily for a week or so otherwise its just sitting in salty water
Cheers, Bill
