The South Wales Geologists' Association are running a 'Be a Geologist' day on Penarth Beach, just past the lifeboat station. It's on 17th August, from 11 until 3. Just turn up anytime between those hours and there'll be plenty of people round to help you find fossils, identify what you've found, answer your questions about the local geology, and also lead trips down the beach to examine the cliffs (from a distance). Come along and meet us!.

Bring your own food and drink and dress appropriately for the weather.
