Very nice, Trevor - "fatboy" is a Nodicoeloceras puteolum - watch out for the large constriction at the mouth border (hope itƒâ€š‚´s there)

All the best,

Andy

Hi,

I haven't been on here for a long time. It just so happens that I've started watching some of your videos.

I'd just like to say thanks. I know how much work is involved in creating them, editing and uploading. I've really enjoyed the ones I've watched so far. I'm completely self taught in prepping, and it's great to see I have worked out some of the same techniques!

I think I might ask the missis if I can buy a heater for the garage.......
I'd love to find Hallucigenia

I just spent an hour out the garage with no heater. Enough! I fancy seeing if I can get a little woodburner.

In the meantime, your vids have re-invigorated me. I'm a South Walian, so might have a pop along to Southerndown or Dunraven whilst the tide is out tomorrow.

Anyway, thanks again.
I'd love to find Hallucigenia

Just watched your last vid and Ep2 pt2 "Heads or Tails". Great stuff! I have seen lots of your other vids too.

I get a real sense of satisfaction watching that matrix ping right off! The only bit I can't watch is when you use the wet saw... makes my toes curl.

Great tips and good to see techniques used.

Thanks

Hi sd41, The stone saw is really not as bad as it may look. It has a diamond blade which cuts quite well, but you can actually touch it while it is rotating and it would not cut you unless you put a lot of pressure on. You may get a bit of a sore finger though, the problem comes when using very thin cutting blades, if you do not line the cut up correctly you can cause the blade to fold over on it's self and then it can be a bit dangerous and blood can flow if the blade were to shatter. The blade in the saw that I was using is quite thick and a lot safer as things go, what can make it look worse is the vibration from the cutting action. As long as you have a firm grip and a steady straight pushing action there is generally not a problem.

Hi prepman,

thanks for letting me know about safety aspect of the diamond blade. I can now watch your vids in a more relaxed fashion...with toes uncurled!

Keep on hunting, and best of luck for your future finds.
