My wife and I took the kids to hunt for fossil on Mappleton beach, we found lots of fossil shells and a couple of rocks that we don't know what they are, even if they are nothing they look cool, any information you nice people can give would be appreciated. IMG_20191007_185308__01.jpg flat with lots of Linear grooves. IMG_20191007_185232__01.jpg  IMG_20191007_185037__01.jpg  IMG_20191007_185129__01.jpg wondered if this was fossilised wood? There is no such thing as "just a rock" imho! Everything has a name - even if it's "mudstone" or "limestone"!!!!
Anyay, the first one looks like a pebble of very hard Quartzite and those parallel lines are where t has been scraped along in a glacier.
The oter 2 look like ironstone concretons.
