Just an update i have had a reply from the national museum of Scotland who are keen to get a hold of my specimen to scan it. They cant identify it outright and say they want to scan it to see what is all inside the matrix that could help however they are very intrigued it does appear to be a fish and the majority of finds come from the shale deposits in my area where as mine is in sandstone which is interesting to them.
