Came accross this on an old railyway embankment nothing too special just a tree branch or plant stem but here it is anyway.....it seems to have other things running through it but not sure if the camera will pick it up

Hello, on the first three photo`s I can see a plant fossil; Equisitum sp. "horsetail" in common words.
This fossil is often found in middle Jurassic sedimentary rock on the Yorkshire coast.

Thanks elbert....i found this on a railway embankment in dunfermline fife thats now a cycle track

From that location, it'll be Calamites from the Carboniferous. Still a horsetail!
