Hi Krypto,
Obviously a concretion but as to its origin not so obvious.....maybe a ferruginous clay core which seems to have mineralised cracks (septa), iron compounds have migrated outwards to create concentric rings the outer ring harder than the enclosing rock. The concretion then weathered out as a spherical lump and was subsequently cracked open.....thats my theory anyway...
