Looks like an ammonite, probably you can also extract it from the matrix. Where is it from? The Whitby area?

Notice in a duplicate post it's from Freshwater West which is Palaeozoic so no ammonites....or dinosaurs. Barring erratics of course.

Pete's right, definitely a Carboniferous crinoid stem, worn to partially show the lumen down the centre.
