Found in woodlands in the Bridgend Area, South Wales. It is one piece split down the middle. Any help on identification or age would be most appreciated. (AA for scale)

I would say this is plant , but the geology map shows Triassic/Jurassic round Bridgend.

Agree with Colin, the South Wales coal field is just north of Bridgend but I'm sure they dumped the waste all over the place.
