I found this at Saltwick Bay can anyone help with I.d please. I didn't split it just picked it up on the beach. Many thanks IMG_20181106_185356.jpg

Sorry I think you will need clearer photos of all sides. Thank you for including ruler.
Take photos that are in focus in natural light is best.

I'll guess it's some kind of concretion/nodule, maybe iron with maybe an argillaceous core that has subsequently contracted to leave a void then split. Don't think its a fossil and now my eyes hurt.

Thank you JW, I will take a few more photos in daylight tomorrow, perhaps using my tablet? Maybe they will be a bit clearer

Hi
As Pete said is most likely an iron concretion, my first thoughts were that due to the colour but it would be nice to see more photos with a closer view anyway.
