Good evening,

Currently at Barton on Sea for a few days. We have found a couple of huge ammonites which is great but we have also found two other bits and are not sure if they are something or nothing. The round bit is approx 2 1/2 inches long amd the flea looking thing is approx 8 inches long.

Any info would be great. Thank you Click image for larger version - Name: 20200805_114210.jpg, Views: 49, Size: 1.14 MB Click image for larger version - Name: 20200805_105257.jpg, Views: 47, Size: 3.56 MB

I think these are just rocks.  Please show us the ammonites as these are not found at barton which is eocene.  They may have come from rocks brought in for beach defenses.

Thanks so much for your response although I am sad that there nothing special especially the flea lol. I think you are right that the rocks have been bought over for sea defences but have included them for you.

That is an amazing sea defence dump find! Crazy that whilst we are scrabbling about looking for fossils they are being used as sea defences, to line footpaths and cut into building slabs!
