This piece of flint is 10 cm in length and was found in a field in Hampshire. 
My first thought was a burrow as these are common in flint but I have never seen a burrow like this. 
Any other suggestions please?

I think it is the rather battered imprint of the hinge from the shell of the large inoceramid chalk bivalve Volviceramus (?involutus)Volviceramus.jpg
