We found this on Tenby beach last week, and wondered if the striations were crystalline geological formations, or could it be organic? I am new to this and would love help with ID please? collage.png

Hi,
That is indeed a fossil but it is not a jellyfish (jellyfish fossils are extremely rare). It is definitely a fossil coral. If you give us where you found it someone might be able to give you more information about it.

Hi and welcome to the forum. It's a colonial coral from the lower Carboniferous, probably Siphonodendron sp.

Thanks for sorting that for us. It was found on the north beach in Tenby Pembrokeshire. Much appreciated.
