Hi all, I am now certainly hooked on collecting fossils down at my local beach, even got the hubby and granddaughter looking as well.

im sharing a recent collecting hunt from the weekend, both coral and tree fossils. The grey tree fossils with the black on smell like tar, it’s a very strong smell.

happy hunting

The beach is in Northumberland called Cambois, pronounced ‘Cam Is’ ! It was a very large coal mining area and the beach has loads of coal on it.

Thanks, nice mix of carboniferous fossils, both coal measures plants and limestone corals.
