Scrumpy
Hi everyone,
I found this last month at port and I’ve just got it back from prep at Stone Treasures.
They’ve done a fantastic job.
Please see before and after pic.
I’ve been told it’s a pretty rare ammonite for the Yorkshire coast is this true?
I believe it’s a lytocreas but please correct of I’m wrong. It measures about 220mm.
All the best for the new year

Hello, Lytoceras is indeed a rare beastie on the coast.
This is a good find and a very nice specimen and well prepped at that.
You Lucky....[biggrin]

greetings, Bert
the search is as valuable as the finds...

Nice find Scrumpy, a very big one too. ( as Bert says, Lytoceras , not Lytocreas)

Hi crann
The prep cost me £65 and that included two small pieces of itchy rostrum

That's cheap... You have to send it away ? Really rare find that...

Aye . Postage in total was about £30
But I think it was money well spent.
My wife thinks it looks so beautiful she says it can live in the living room👍
