Thanks for your help Peward, I'll probably sign up to both of them in time but I was hoping to be able to visit somewhere over the bank holiday weekend. Also, if anyone knows of any good localities for Oolithic Limestone in Oxfordshire I'd be really greatfull as I'm looking for educational samples.

Thanks again,
Chris

Iƒ¢¢â€š¬¢â€ž¢ve recently relocated to Oxfordshire and am looking for
great sites for Fossil Collecting and geology in general. Iƒ¢¢â€š¬¢â€ž¢ve visited several
before whilst at Uni but unfortunately Wicklesham wonƒ¢¢â€š¬¢â€ž¢t allow access anymore
and Ardley I here have buried there footprintsƒ¢¢â€š¬‚¦sigh! Other than that I have no
idea where to begin and was looking for any advice as to good sites?

Thanks for any help,

Chris

Hi 02robsonc
Can I suggest that you join the Oxford Geology Group, http://oxgg.org.uk/, the group has many outings and other functions all over the country (including trips abroad) also regular seminars held at Oxford University Earth Science Department.
Also the Oxford Geology Trust http://www.oxfordshiregt.org/  who also has various functions in and around Oxford

Hi,  On the OGG site there are a number of sites you could visit

http://www.ogg.uk.com/#!key-landscape-sites/cas2

Also the group are very friendly, so I would recommend joining the group.

There is also a great book on the geology of Oxfordshire written by Philip Powell a must read for you.
