hello,

I am just curious whether anyone has found any Pleistocene or early Holocene Material either out of the clay til surrounding Port Mulgrave or on the foreshore of the beach. Moreover, is anyone aware of any Pleistocene material that has been found within the surrounding areas?

Hello, at Port Mulgrave a lot of the till has probably been removed when the harbour was built during the 1850ties, so the chance of finding till material is rather small.

And the direct surroundings of Port are rather high up, so there can`t have been a lot to start with...

In all the times I have been down Port the only thing I have found from the named period was a bead made of yet, probably Neolithic...

greetings, Bert

the search is as valuable as the finds...
