Live in Seaham and used to work at Dawdon Colliery.  Regularly walk the Blast beach and found this a couple of months ago (5 inches long).  Just joined this great site so didn't have a ruler with me at the time, but will travel with one in the future.  The coal-mine waste carboniferous fossils in the area sometimes have a golden coat of iron pyrites - as this one has.  My avatar is a pencil drawing I created from this fossil for an art exhibition in Uist.  20180411_090231.jpg
