Hi,  I found this lump of rock at Saltwick Bay last month.  I was wondering if the white bits in it are part of a fossilised tree root?

I'd appreciate any help on the iD, thanks.

The wood (black) would have been very porous/permeable so I reckon the white stuff is calcite? deposited by mineral rich circulating fluids during diagenesis.
