Hi there,

Best place for trilobites I've seen for last 12 months is Saltwick Bay in slate beds heading towards Whitby along the foreshore. Trilobites everywhere you looked along with small pyritised ammonites.

Sorry but you do not get trilobites at saltwick bay! Because it is jurassic rock. Trilobites only occur in palaeozoic Rock rather than Mesozoic rock.
However you do find a modern marine creature in the rock pools there called a chiton that look a little trilobite/woodlice shaped. They were until you took them home still alive! The ones in your house you took home will now be dead.
You do not get trilobites at saltwick.
Craig we are all looking for a trilobite site that not many people go to so when you do find one lets us know!
The best site in the UK for trilobites and good ones is Gilwern hill but I know you have been there.
