I went walking on the beach at West kirby today and noticed the sea defences are constructed out of highly fossilous limestone. The usual bivalves and corals but also some of the fattest crinoid stems I have ever seen.

Anyone know from where the limestone originates?

You would need to contact the council - good luck!

I'm pretty sure it's Carboniferous Limestone from the Clwydian hills of North Wales.
