My daughter found this stone whilst out for a walk at Latchmore Brook in the new forest. She would love to know whether or not it is a fossil? And if so, what it might be? Any help, advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. jpeg jpeg

I think you have the impression of a branching fossil sponge preserved in chert/flint, presumably reworked from the Upper Cretaceous. Something like Doryderma (Brochodora)..
